Sierra Sam & Marcus Vector will make their Contexterrior debut next month. The Jump Rope EP (cntxt23) includes three new co-productions from the gentlemen behind the Belgian label ToysForBoys.
Fun fact: Sierra Sam has collaborated with Bloody Mary, who's one-third of the Gypsy Family trio (along with Quenum and Dachsund). Their 12" from last month is still making the rounds with continued support from Ellen Allien, Slam, Shonky, Pär Grindvik, Mark Henning, and Efdemin.

Contexterrior #22 has arrived, Strangers in all lands courtesy of Gyspy Family, a trio of techno vagrants known for their prior individual work on labels like Trapez, Soma, Cadenza, Sender, and others. Their debut release is out today on 12" vinyl. The digital download version follows in one week. The title track can be heard in Jay Haze's recent podcast for XLR8R.
Meanwhile, Miss Fitz's recent Drifting continues momentum, kicking off Laurent Garnier's recent podcast for Resident Advisor, and featured on Steve Lawler's new Renaissance mix CD Viva Toronto. The release was also selected as "EP of the month" in Tsugi magazine, and DJ Mag said, "it's a better example of the creative art of vocal sampling than 'Enfants'." The tracks are getting support from a wide array of DJs like Tiefschwarz, Loco Dice, and Ryan Elliott.

Following her material on Raum Musik, Freak N Chic, Circus Company, and Kalamari Musique, Miss Fitz AKA Maayan Nidam makes her Contexterrior debut on 21 April with Drifting. It includes the 14-minute original as heard in hers and Jay Haze's DJ sets, plus a self-remix on the flip. Check the release page for audio clips and more info, and visit her MySpace for tour dates.

As the year comes to a close, here is a hint of what's on the way for 2008: a new EP from an ex-Ohio, ex-Seattle, current-Berlin resident who's collaborated with Jay Haze and has had a string of releases on Trapez, Karloff, and Poker Flat.

You may have noticed that the Contexterrior imprint has had a quiet fall (although our housier counterpart TuningSpork has been busy as hell). Well, that changes today with the release of Inxec's fourth EP for the label, Flip Beat (available on 12" distributed by Vinyl France, and downloadable via digital outlets like Beatport). Check out the release page to preview its four tracks, and visit Inxec's MySpace for tour dates and more info.

Our two latest 12"s are out now for your listening (and dancing) pleasure:
Margaret Dygas | Day After | CNTXT18
Margaret was born in Poland, but has also called Germany, California, New York, and London her home. Now having moved to Berlin (where she has established a monthly residency at Panoramabar), Contexterrior issues her debut 3-track release. Catch her recent Resident Advisor feature, and check her tour dates at her MySpace.
Akiko Kiyama | Patchouli | CNTXT17
After being raised playing classical music, and later dabbling in drum 'n' bass, Akiko has been producing techno that fits right in with the Contexterrior aesthetic. Following previous compilation contributions and splits, here is her first solo 12" on the label, complete with a remix from Jay Haze. Check her MySpace for upcoming dates.

Spring is around the corner and with it a crazy release schedule. For those who has been living under a rock, Contexterrior's new sub-label Junion has had two releases already this year. The first release, by Jambi, is a heady melodic 3-tracker that has been rocking many dance floors since it's release last month. Junion quickly followed with a delightful release from Argenis Brito of Mamotour, a funky and sunny jam! Keep your ears to the ground for the next Junion from the mysterious Red Light Shining project.
Not that Contexterrior has been slacking. Contexterrior 14 is a mad club EP from a newcomer from the UK called Inxec. It's sick! Don't have it yet? What are you waiting for?
